Can the plates be used for eating?
No the transfers and varnish are not food safe and will not hold up to being washed. These are purely decorative. The object of this is to give a purpose to vintage items that are not being used as they are not suitable for modern dishwashers andmicrowaves
What materials do you use?
I use water based decal transfer paper and a water based spray varnish to print , prepare and seal each image.
Other than that, its plan paper, biros, water and whichever bowel/glass os the right size to cut the transfer for the plate.
Will my images be safe?
After I have finished with the image, I will not keep it. I will have a photograph of the finished item but I will only use this for my own portfolio. I will not use it to promote my work, online ir elsewhere, without your permission.
If the plate is a gift, no images will be shared online until I also know that the recipient has received it.
Is this just for photos?
I can also make transfers or drawings, and other art work that you make wish to preserve.I can also print text .
There are are limits to what I will do:
- No explicit/offensive photos
- No language that incites hate or discrimination
- No images of violence/abuse
How environmentally friendly is this?
I am not only recycling plates, I try to recycle as much as I can and use it to pack boxes, and make sure your order is safe. From newspapers to old note books and even the left over transfers and paper. It all gets shredded and used.
I also reuse packaging I have received and this is the only time I will use non biodegradable bubble wrap.
Why do I have to pay upfront?
These plates take around five days to make and dry to your bespoke, unique requirements. If you change your mind, the finished product cannot be sold and in order to protect my time, I ask for payment upfront,
How should I hang/display the plate after?
I will send you adhesive hanger with your order but your item may need something stronger deeding on its weight and the wall you are hanging it.
Very cold walls can compromise the stickiness of the adhesive. You could use a wire hanger for these or choose to stand the plate on a shelf.
Will the images be printrd in colour?
All images are printed in black and transparent. Images on a white plate will look black and white whereas images on a pink plate will look black and pink.
Who finds the plates?
Me! I love nothing more than rummaginmg around in charoity shops looking for these beauties. This means that items are being reused and charities are benefitting too.
Do you offer discounts for multiple orders?
There is no hard rule if you buy more than one. However I am happy to discount if you are buying a high amount of plates.
Do you combine postage?
Yes, I will always do this but there is a limit to how many plates can fit in a box so you may need more thah one. I will always be upfront and fair about this.
